This project involved creating a promotional travel video for Northern Travel. I was able to capture stunning aerial footage and combine it with effective cut editing and engaging motion graphics and animations to produce a visually compelling and immersive viewing experience for any potential customer of Northern Travel.
The planning stage of Northern Travel video involved the creation of a detailed plan outlining each individual visual element.
Storyboarding is an essential part in the planning stage. It involves creating a visual representation of the video’s key scenes and shots. This helps to ensure the video’s narrative flows seamlessly and that the visuals are engaging and align with the story I want to achieve.
Once the storyboard is complete, the next step is to assemble a rough cut using Adobe Premiere Pro. This involves importing the footage and organizing it into sequences that align with the storyboard. The rough cut helps to give an initial idea of how the final video will look, and it allows the editor to make necessary adjustments to pacing, sound, and visual effects.
The process and implementation stage for Northern Travel video involves taking the rough cut created in Premiere Pro and adding special effects, animations, and audio to enhance the visual and auditory impact of the video. This stage was completed using Adobe After Effects.
The video is designed to feel familiar within the travel industry while also showing off the unique Canadian flavour. A focus was purposely put on highlighting the colder parts of Canada. It was designed with informing the user on everything this country has to offer.
This deliverable is a travel ad that highlight the distinctly Canadian flavour. The footage had to be cut together and animations and effects placed on top of it with clever kinetic type.
